The Fish Hotel, Broadway, Cotswolds
There's a gently hip vibe at this relaxing retreat on the northern fringes of the Cotswolds. The Fish is one of Britain's most innovative hotels, offering accommodation in beautifully crafted treehouses and charming shepherd's huts, as well as chic and more conventional rooms. With quiet areas for adults as well as facilities for children (and even dogs), there's broad appeal here, and wide-ranging pricing too. The expansive collection of properties is dotted across a hill, so the views are terrific, but be prepared for some slightly steep walks - unless you take a hotel buggy between buildings!
Set on a steep hill in a 400-acre private estate above postcard-pretty Broadway, The Fish has fabulous views across the Vale of Evesham.
The Fish sits on a secluded estate overlooking the village of Broadway and close to the famous Cotswolds market town of Chipping Campden.
By car: The hotel is about two miles west of Broadway. It is a 2 hour 30 minute drive from London, just over an hour from Oxford, and 1 hour 20 minutes from Bristol. There is free parking available for guests.
By train: The closest station is Moreton-in-Marsh. Regular tains run from London Paddington, taking around 90 minutes. Moreton-in-Marsh is a 20-minute taxi ride from the hotel. thetrainline.com
