A countryside getaway for grownups, Whatley Manor - originally Twatley Manor - was built in the 18th century as a farmhouse and has slowly evolved into a luxurious country pile with a superb spa and Michelin chef dining. The driveway - lined with 90 Scottish lime trees and a dry-stone wall using 90,000 hand cut stones - sets the scene for one of the Cotswold's most celebrated country house hotels. Suited to couples after a romantic getaway, celebration stays and anyone in need of restorative escape, the statuesque house is set in nature with 12 flourishing-acres of gardens and beautifully kept grounds. The dog-friendly hotel is something of a hot-spot in the area, offering a quintessential countryside retreat where sustainability sits at the root of everything; there's a focus on wellness, alongside an innovative tasting menu - recognised with a Green Michelin star.
