WHAT WE LOVE...

The Grand Hotel has pride of place on Brighton seafront, with sweeping views across the English Channel. Built in 1864, she's had some hefty cosmetic work in the past few years, but still looks good for her age. Top-hatted doormen welcome all guests, while a grand staircase spirals through seven floors of plush rooms and suites. On the ground floor is Cyan, a modern restaurant which serves small plates and sharing platters, plus a fancy champagne bar. As the grande dame of Brighton, it appeals to a real mix, from upper class gentry who've been visiting for nearly 150 years to millennials Instagramming their afternoon tea in the Victoria Bar.

Style & Character

The Grand has long attracted the more mature guest, but in recent years it's appealing to a younger audience. We love the theatre of it; doormen in top hats, the sweeping spiral staircase - it's a special place to stay.

The official doormen and bellboys make the stay - it's like stepping back to Brighton's Regency heyday.
