This delightful, family-run inn has a fabulous location on a promontory that juts out into the waters of the lake. Interiors ooze history: antiques and family heirlooms dot the premises, 16th century prints line the walls, and thick rugs add a cosy touch. The setting is divine: a charming, cobbled pathway snakes its way to the waterfront locanda, where ducks patter about the romantic pier, which is home to a delightful café and bar - it's a gorgeous spot to soak up the lake views with a drink in hand. The property is nestled in a five-acre park home to cypress trees and olive groves, with a delightful swimming pool for guests (a second is open to non-residents) and an excellent lakefront restaurant serving delicious Italian dishes.

We love the wonderfully romantic location and charming waterfront setting.

The hotel is on the waterfront of a little peninsula. Verona is less than one hour's drive away.
By plane: there are direct flights to Verona from London (2 hours 5 mins), the hotel is a 40-minute drive from the airport. Travellers from Manchester can fly to Venice and drive 1 hour 50 minutes to the hotel. Free on-site parking.

The rooms and suites are furnished with the owners' private collection of antiques - you'll find 16th-century maps, and glasses and plates that belonged to the House of Savoy. Food & Drink

The restaurant has a lovely little arched veranda offering a quiet and intimate setting to enjoy a meal. We love the Bistecca Fiorentina - it melts in the mouth and is best enjoyed with a glass of local red wine.

The restaurant: mains include bream in potato crust and grilled lamb chops with mint and pistachio sauce. Open daily for dinner.
Taverna: waterfront café, drinks, light snacks and aperitivi.
