WHAT WE LOVE...

Blending classic and Art Deco features, this historic hotel a 10-minute walk from Milano Centrale train station bursts with stately elegance, with lavish interiors - think silks and velvets - and fin de siècle furnishings reflecting the best in Italian craftsmanship. The beautifully appointed rooms are adorned with hand painted frescoes and bespoke Italian furniture, with luxurious ensuite marble bathrooms adorned with glass mosaics. With its backlit wall and sculpted tinted crystal, Principe Bar has long been a favourite among celebrities, while Acanto Restaurant offers classic Italian cuisine. There's no shortage of modern comforts - the tenth-floor fitness and beauty centre is one of the city's best, complete with indoor swimming pool, rooftop terrace, sauna, steam room and state-of-the-art gym with floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
