WHAT WE LOVE...
Mandarin Oriental opened its first Italian resort in 2019, bringing a touch of oriental sophistication to the shores of glamorous Lake Como. Nestled in a leafy botanical park, the resort has nine separate villas combining Italian flavour and oriental touches. In the reception area, antique Chinese screens are a nod to the group's heritage, while bespoke furnishings featuring rich textiles are made by local artisans. There's a stylish floating swimming pool, while the Spa offers holistic treatments combining eastern and western traditions. There are plenty of dining options: L˜ARIA offers Italian cuisine with Japanese influences, CO.MO Bar & Bistrot serves tasty Italian cuisine in a stylish setting, while bubbling pizzas are expertly crafted at Ape Pizza, a woodfired oven aboard a traditional Ape car.
