A proper pub and a foodie destination, The Langford Inn is located on the edge of the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Beauty, where guests can enjoy boutique-style bedrooms and local produce with a field-to-fork ethos. The historic pub dates back to the 17th century and boasts heritage features including the original stone walls and large exposed beams as well as eclectic artwork and a pretty alfresco courtyard. Owned by Butcombe Pub and Inns with the local Brewery just down the road, the building has been thoughtfully restored with a modern vibe, creating an entirely welcoming countryside abode. With its close proximity to Bristol and its rural surrounds, it's well suited to foodies and city explorers, along with keen walkers and those looking for a quiet escape in a sleepy Somerset village.

It was fun to take a brewery tour at the Butcombe HQ, located five minutes' away; explore behind the scenes and taste some brews, followed by a fish and chip lunch back at The Langford.

Just north of the Mendip hills, from Langford you could visit Bristol (30 minutes) or Bath (45 minutes).
By car: over an hour from Cardiff, 2 hours 45 minutes from London and 3 hours 30 minutes from Manchester. Free parking on-site.
By train: trains from London Paddington to Yatton take just over 2 hours. The hotel is a 15-minute drive from the station.
