WHAT WE LOVE...

The very antithesis of Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos in the more touristy south of Tenerife, Buenavista in the unspoilt northwest of the island is the perfect setting for an out-of-the-way purpose-built resort. Tenerife is the most popular of the Canary Islands to travel to but you can escape the bucket-and-spade brigade here. While its main buildings mimic traditional Canarian architecture including a copy of nearby Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, five-star Hotel Hacienda del Conde only dates back to 2010. This adults-only establishment is a haven situated on green and pleasant land with extra sunshine hours. There's a colonial feel to the place which starts but doesn't end with its Calle La Finca address.
