This might just be the perfect hotel for a rock band to stay in. Geared to a youthful state of mind, with rock playing and some wild art on display, the large black and charcoal lobby has a nightclub feel to it - and that's just during the day. In fact at night it often takes on that persona, with DJs and some impressive partying. Near a host of attractions in midtown such as the Empire State Building and Madison Square Garden, its guest rooms all differ and are populated with vintage and retro furniture that brings unique character. It also boasts two good restaurants, a bar, coffee shop, shop, hairdressers, sandwich shop and fitness centre.

The hotel is in the heart of things in the up-and-coming Flatiron district, and it's great that Chelsea, the Empire State Building, Korea Town, Madison Square Park and other places of interest are nearby too.

The hotel is between 29th and Broadway, close to plenty of shops and restaurants as well as subway connections.
By plane: flights to New York take 6 hours 50 mins from London and Edinburgh, and 7 hours 10 mins from Manchester. The hotel is a one-hour taxi ride from JFK airport. Public parking nearby.

Style & Character

This hotel certainly attracts the younger, hip, creative crowd. That said, a good few regular tourists like the place too. We love the relaxed informality of the place, and the clever subtle mix of modern, vintage and grunge.

We love being able to choose from a really good coffee, cocktail, oyster and sandwich bar as wel as a good restaurant.

The 258 rooms vary, but the bigger ones have a turntable and vinyl, and an acoustic guitar, which is a nice change from your normal hotel room. The vintage furnishing add lots of character to the rooms too.
