Wander cobbled streets, soak up the sunshine and relax in vibrant town squares in Croatia's most fascinating ancient cities
Sailing away from the beguiling city of Venice, we'll voyage
towards Croatia and make our first stop in the city of Rovinj - a
beautiful fishing port on the Istrian Peninsula. Explore its
cobblestone streets and pretty ancient churches, or head along the
coast to the forested natural park where secluded beaches and
relaxed bars hide away in coves.
Our next stop is Pula, a city that has been conquered by Romans,
Venetians and the Germanic Ostrogoths. Seek out the vast
amphitheatre or head out to the beaches on the Verudela Peninsula
We'll stop at Losinj - a 31km-long island with historic towns
and thick pine forests - where over 1100 plant species thrive
inland and dolphins can often be spotted in the surrounding waters.
Next up is Zadar, where we'll overnight to allow time for drinking
refreshing glasses of malvasia and listening to the mellifluous Sea
Organ - a network of pipes built into the land that creates a
hypnotic tune as the waves crash in and push air through.
You'll have the chance to explore the Kornati Islands, where
140-isles make up a protected national park with gorgeous reefs and
bright white rock formations on land, and then visit Vis - the most
remote of Croatia's islands. Our voyage ends in Split, a glamorous
city where you can discover a Roman palace and cool street cafes in
the Old Town.
