The Isle of Man is undoubtedly one of Britain's most beautiful, nature-filled places. Explore its charms on a five-day trip, taking two heritage railway journeys and an island tour by coach.
The Snaefell Mountain Railway, just five miles long, is the only electric mountain railway in the British Isles. It rises over 2,000 feet above sea level for sensational panoramas and, on a clear day, you can see England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. The Isle of Man Steam Railway, a storybook train painted in a gleaming post-box red, is an hour-long journey through the Manx countryside.
This UNESCO-designated biosphere reserve, hosts the world-famous TT motorcycle races in early summer, bringing a cacophony of motorbikes and thousands of racing fans to the otherwise calm and bucolic island.
An island coach tour takes you along a stretch of the famous TT course before visiting other notable landmarks, including Tynwald Hill - a cultural and political icon of the island. Visit Peel and its castle ruins before visiting Ramsey and Laxey for the Great Laxey Wheel.
In between memorable railway trips and the island tour, there's plenty of time to explore the island at leisure, whether wandering the streets of Douglas, enjoying the island's sandy beaches, or discovering its charming Victorian heritage.
You'll stay four nights in Douglas at the Empress Hotel, a modern hotel with glittering sea views. Dinners in the Brasserie Restaurant are included, and breakfasts are served in the light-filled Breakfast Room, which has direct access to the promenade.
ALSO INCLUDED: Four nights half board accommodation in Douglas, coach transfers for excursions, services of an experienced tour manager
