Sail on Golden Horizon from Croatia, around the Greek islands of Kefalonia and Crete, to Egypt, along the man-made Suez Canal, where you will visit the Valley of the Kings
The Suez Canal is one of the most important waterways in the
World. Linking East with West, it connects the Mediterranean Sea
with the Indian Ocean via the Red Sea and on this unique voyage
you'll travel it's 120-mile length on a traditional tall ship.
Tradewind's luxurious Golden Horizon is the World's largest
square-rigged sailing ship and allows its 272 guests to explore the
world in a more sustainable way. Powered by the wind and currents
for around 70 per cent of each season, it's billowing sails will be
a sight to behold.
Despite it's classical looks it still boasts the luxuries you'd
expect from a five-star cruise including excellent food and service
and a relaxed atmosphere on board.
You'll set sail from the Croatian city of Split, on the
Dalmatian coast, and can choose to enjoy a few days pre-cruise
exploring the UNESCO-listed walled city of Dubrovnik on an optional
extension. You'll then sail the magical Mediterranean to the
Peloponnese in Greece, the islands where the original Olympic Games
were held. Stop in Kefalonia, the beautiful setting of Captain
Corelli's Mandolin and enjoy swimming in the crystal clear waters.
As you make your way between the Greek Islands there will be plenty
of opportunities to take advantage of complementary water sports
enjoying kayaking, paddle boarding and other waterspouts directly
from the marina at the aft of the ship.
You'll also stop at Kalamata, on the Peloponnese peninsula,
famous for its olives, and Chania, in Western Crete. Another
highlight of this unique voyage will be your passage through the
famous Suez Canal with stops in Alexandria, where you can choose to
add on a Cairo experience to see the colossal Pyramids of Giza.
Your last stop is Sharm el Sheikh, known for its incredible diving
You can choose to extend your holiday in Sharm el Sheikh with a
relaxing beach resort stay or fly to Cairo to check-in to the
wonderful Four Seasons for two-nights including an amazing tour of
the Sphinx and Pyramids at Giza. From there you can fly to Luxor to
board the luxurious Oberoi Philae for a five-day, full-board cruise
down the Nile where you will take in the wonders, temples and
sights of Ancient Egypt including Aswan and the Valley of the
