Your first stop will be Getxo, a port town in the beautiful Basque Country. You'll have time to see some of the town's spectacular beaches and impressive sights, including the UNESCO-listed Vizcaya Bridge. You'll also have the option to visit Bilbao, one of the most famous cities in northern Spain and home of the world-renowned Guggenheim Museum.
You'll also visit the magnificent city of La Coruña in Galicia, where you can wander between the medieval old town and the more modern districts to see the architectural contrasts which make the city so fascinating. Climb the Tower of Hercules, one of the oldest active Roman lighthouses in the world, or simply wander along the city's many tranquil bays, enjoying sweeping coastal views.
You'll stay in a comfortable cabin on Bolette as you sail, with two full days at sea, allowing you to make use of the fantastic facilities. Spend time unwinding by the pool or at the spa, and enjoy a great range of evening entertainment, as well as delicious dining options, with all meals included.
Today you'll board Bolette in Southampton. If you arrive early in Southampton, you can spend time exploring this port city. There are plenty of attractions to discover that showcase its fascinating history and local culture. Perhaps see the timber-framed treasures of the Old Town, including the beautiful Tudor House and Gardens, or explore nature trails and wetlands near the city before joining the ship.
You'll spend the day sailing for northern Spain on Bolette - an opportunity to truly kick back and relax. Perhaps you'll spend time in the Atlantis Spa, where superb therapists are on hand to offer a range of wellness treatments. You could also take a dip in one of the two swimming pools or simply relax with fellow guests in one of the several onboard lounges, like The Observatory, with its large panoramic windows offering magnificent views.
There's a schedule of excellent evening entertainment included in your cruise, as well as all meals on board in one of the ship's beautiful dining venues.
Getxo in northern Spain is your first port of call. Here you'll find beautiful beaches and impressive architecture, including the UNESCO-listed Vizcaya Bridge, the world's oldest transport bridge. The town's Old Port area, Algorta, is situated at one end of Ereaga Beach and is a popular spot to soak up the sun. At the other end of Ereaga, you'll find delightful palaces and gardens to explore.
Getxo is also perfectly placed for tours to nearby Bilbao, the largest city in the Basque Country and home to the world-famous Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Fine Art and the 14th-century Gothic-style Santiago Cathedral.
As you depart from Getxo, you'll sail past Santa Ana Castle, one of the best-preserved fortifications in the Cantabria region.
Today you'll dock at La Coruña, a vibrant port city rich in Galician culture, history, gastronomy and natural beauty. The 9th-century city combines new and old architecture and the medieval quarter contrasts with the shimmering glass of futuristic buildings, from which La Coruña gets its nickname, The Crystal City.
As you sail into and out of La Coruña, you'll see the impressive site of the Tower of Hercules, one of the oldest active Roman lighthouses in the world.
From climbing up the Tower of Hercules to drinking fresh Estrella Galicia beer to exploring the small collection of immaculate bays, La Coruña's many attractions make this a city well worth discovering.
You'll have another day at sea to simply relax after two days of exciting sightseeing. You may choose to again make use of the excellent wellness facilities, or perhaps you'll attend some of the informative lectures or group activities available on board throughout the day. You can hone your artistic skills at the Olsen Studio, join a sociable gathering with other guests at the Book Club, or learn about marine life or local flora and fauna.
Today Bolette will dock in Southampton as your cruise comes to an end.
While Bolette is one of the largest of Fred Olsen’s ships by size, she carries fewer than 1,400 guests, meaning you’ll have more space in which to relax. Enjoy a calm atmosphere in public areas such as the all-season pool, the Atlantis Spa, and the beautiful two-tiered entertainment theatre. You’ll experience a premium level of comfort and exceptional service in the ship’s many elegant lounges, bars and dining venues. You can choose between an Interior or Ocean Cabin, Balcony or Suite, all equipped with a Smart TV, hairdryer, tea and coffee-making facilities, a fridge and individually controlled air conditioning.
