Board your five-star river ship for a cultural journey along the Danube, taking in its beautiful sights and learning about its musical links
As Europe's second-longest river, the delights of the Danube
will be at your fingertips during this seven-night cruise,
departing from Budapest.
Discover grand baroque architecture, medieval cities, picture
perfect towns and see the locations which inspired many composers,
including Mozart and Strauss as you meander its waterways, calling
in to three different countries. You'll also visit three of
Europe's most cultured capitals: Bratislava, Vienna and
Budapest.
Explore the basilica and historic centre of Esztergom, formerly
the capital of Hungary, positioned on the banks of the Danube,
close to the border with Slovakia. In Bratislava, you'll also take
in the treasures of the Old Town - with its buildings in a variety
of styles from Neo-Renaissance to Gothic.
The cruise will also take you to the romantic cities of
Dürnstein and Melk - the former is known for its castle where
Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned, which you can visit during an
optional walking tour. Melk has a beautiful old town and abbey.
Spend a day in Vienna - possibly the highlight of your itinerary
- and see many of its cultural sights including St Stephen's
Cathedral and the colossal Hofburg. Vienna is home to some of the
world's finest classical composers and during a guided tour, your
local expert will share insights on this great city.
Your home for the week will be a wonderful five-star river ship,
with your meals and beverages (on board) included. Make the most of
scenic sailing from the sun deck, offering panoramic views of the
beautiful landscapes as they pass you by.
