Ring in the New Year in style with this five-day trip, taking you to the birthplace of Shakespeare and through the Cotswolds by train

Stratford-upon-Avon is a beautiful medieval market town on the banks of the river Avon, with more than 800 years of history, and replete with half-timbered buildings. But it's better known as the birthplace of 16th century playwright and poet, William Shakespeare.

During this itinerary, you'll learn more about The Bard, and enjoy a Shakespeare Experience guided tour - as well as plenty of time to explore the sights of the town at leisure.

Amongst the highlights is a panoramic sightseeing tour of Stratford. Your guide will be on hand to point out the numerous buildings of interest - including Anne Hathaway's cottage, William Shakespeare's house and school, and the guildhall. You'll also partake in a Tudor lesson.

Also on the itinerary is a trip on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, where a train will take you from Cheltenham racecourse to the historic village of Broadway. Travel through the Cotswolds - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - and take in the sleepy hamlets en route. There will be sensational views of the Malvern Hills and beyond.

And with the countdown to the New Year on the horizon, enjoy a spectacular Gala dinner at your hotel. A wonderful opportunity to toast to the trip so far and bring in 2023 with your nearest and dearest - it's sure to be a special occasion.

The Crowne Plaza will be your base for the duration of your trip and in the heart of Stratford, will be the perfect location to explore the sights and shops at your leisure. Alternatively, use your free time to take advantage of the hotel's facilities.
