Cruise around the enchanting city of Venice and discover the wider region’s hidden gems

What we love: You'll access famous locations when they're closed to the public, including St Mark's Basilica after nightfall and VIP access to Doge's Palace

Northern Italy's Veneto region boasts picture-perfect islands, awe-inspiring displays of art, and an extraordinary history reflected in its architecture. With a network of canals and peaceful waterways running through the region, a luxury river cruise is the perfect way to explore.

Join our cruise in July 2023 and you'll sail on a luxurious boutique ship, the S.S La Venezia, to many of the region's most beautiful destinations. You'll begin your journey in Venice, where special out-of-hours trips to Doge's Palace and St. Mark's Basilica have been arranged so that you can absorb the beauty of these historic buildings without the crowds.

Andrew Graham-Dixon will sail with you for part of the cruise. As a renowned art historian, journalist and broadcaster, Andrew will share his expert knowledge as you explore and join you on trips to the Accademia Gallery, the Scuola di San Rocco and The Frari Church.

Cruising out of Venice, your boutique ship will take you to explore the waterfront shops, colourful facades and peaceful canals in Burano, Mazzorbo and Torcello. Farther south, discover Chioggia-a charming southern port loved by fishermen for the sole, sea bass, sea bream found in the waters here.

Every step of the way you'll have the chance to immerse yourself in Venetian culture and savour the region's spectacular wine and enviable cuisine. You'll meet a local gondola artisan, peruse local markets and see glass-blowing artisans at work in Murano.

Your home for the week will be the glorious S.S. La Venezia, an intimate ship with just 126 guests. You'll be staying in a riverview stateroom with plush interiors and a marble bathroom, so you can watch Veneto's beautiful sights pass by your window.
