Expert-led
Learn drawing skills in the idyllic Peak District
As one of the UK's most spectacular areas of natural beauty, the Peak District National Park is the perfect setting for this four-night drawing retreat aimed at beginners, where you'll find plenty of inspiration in your surroundings.
Learning to draw as an adult is not only possible but much easier than you think. This creative holiday is specially-designed for those looking to take up drawing as a hobby, and is filled with exercises and techniques that you can include in your drawing routine.
Your expert tutor on this creative getaway will be Alison Carr, an artist with experience in multiple mediums, whose aim will be to help you capture the beauty of the Peak District in your drawing. When putting pencil to paper herself, Alison takes inspiration from the awe-inspiring scenery she sees on her frequent walks in the countryside.
Not only will Alison introduce you to the basics of shape, form, and texture, she will boost your confidence and help you to progress over three full days of workshops. These relaxed, fun and educational sessions will take place inside the country house or outdoors in the gorgeous grounds, depending on the weather.
You'll be staying at the wonderful Peveril of the Peak, a country house in the tiny village of Thorpe, where you'll be surrounded by idyllic countryside, as well as 11 acres of manicured grounds.
You'll have a continental or cooked breakfast here every morning, giving you plenty of energy for your workshops, as well as dinner in the restaurant and a packed lunch each day.
